Brief: To design a suspended table that is flexible enough to adapt to a variety of usage requirements.

Method: A two tier table is suspended using marine fittings, pulleys and cables. The inner and outer parts of the table can be fixed at any height creating a variety of options:

1. A smaller table defined within the room by the outer table suspended above at ceiling height.

2. A larger dining table created by lowering the outer sections to fit around the inner part.

3. A bench and Japanese style table, where the outer part is lowered onto the floor and the inner section is lowered too.

4. or no table at all when both parts are winched up to the ceiling above head height.
