Becks is a Biophilic Urbanism Consultant with a background in sustainability management, regeneration and urban design. Her love of exploring towns and cities for their biophilic attributes and the excitement of feeling a natural connection to these places led her to pursue a career in the built environment.
Becks has worked in local government for the last five years, delivering public realm transformations in Kingston and the NHS England Healthy New Towns programme in Hampshire. In 2020 she started consulting, with the aim of bringing nature to the heart of developments, for the benefit of both humans and the natural world. Becks has consulted for Planted Cities for the last two years and is an accredited Building with Nature Assessor, which allows her to support developers to go beyond the planning minimum with regard to green infrastructure and help to create truly beautiful, resilient, and environmentally conscious developments.
