Rosa’s appreciation and respect for the natural environment can be attributed to her upbringing in Aotearoa (NZ), where custodianship of the landscape is a part of everyday life. This percolated into her practice during university, where she graduated in Interior Architecture. In her final year Rosa was nationally recognised for her dissertation, further fuelling her passion for writing, and leading her to pursue a career in design research and writing.
Prior to joining the team at Oliver Heath Design Rosa was working as a lecturer. Assisting in the delivery of a Materials and Technology module - ensuring students felt connected and autonomous in their material exploration, creating thought-provoking and environmentally sensitive artefacts.
At Oliver Heath Design, Rosa specialises in design and material strategy, researching, writing, and using a variety of communication methods to highlight the benefits of incorporating natural elements within the built environment. As a keen investigator, she employs a range of resources to explore a subject matter and inform content. She never expects to get the full picture from the click of a mouse, and enjoys reaching out to both experts and the design community to gain a better understanding of themes that are pertinent within the built environment.
In her spare time, Rosa enjoys rambling along the South Downs and exploring forgotten pathways across the UK.
