The Brief
The main goal of this ongoing project is to create a larger kitchen and dining space to bring more unity to the ground floor, as well as adding two more bedrooms with ensuites on the first floor. For this, we proposed building a first-floor side extension and a single storey rear extension, which required planning permission.
With regards to the design aesthetic, our clients are interested in exploring natural materials and a modern eco style. They also wanted the design to be sympathetic to the home’s surroundings, taking into consideration the existing landscape.
As ever, we set out to soften the boundaries between the inside and outside, to create a stronger connection to nearby nature.
