The Green Living Centre

This public facing space was created to connect Islington inhabitants with knowledge on how to live more sustainably and connect with the Islington council green team and activity. 

We created 3 distinct areas: 

• The sustainability exhibition - an informative and interactive series of perimeter panels made from reclaimed timber, that engaged readers with ways to adopt more sustainable ways of living; from domestic design, to saving energy, transport and composting.
• A meet and greet area - for the public to meet the islington green team to discuss all aspects of sustainable living in the borough. A large recycled plastic table with cradle to cradle chairs facilitated the spaces to meet and connect. The low energy lighting feature is made from 1200 recycled water bottles and is lit by gently twinkling fibre optic lights – and aimed at catching the attention of passersby to encourage them to visit the centre.
• A workspace - for the Islington council sustainability team to deliver focussed work - conceived to be filled with light, colour and texture, increasing a connection with nature and natural processes within a dense urban environment.
